Flexible Assembly Solution for transportation, assembly and control

The Flexible Assembly Solution at the 22nd Motek in Stuttgart in autumn 2022

From October 4 to 7, suppliers and experts in assembly and production automation met again at Motek, the leading trade fair for production and assembly automation. We are very pleased that we were able to maintain personal contact with customers and interested parties at this presence trade fair after the corona-related break.

At our booth in hall 5 we presented our new Flexible Assembly Solution. The modular solution combines planning, control, transport and workstation in one system for use in assembly and production. The Flexible Assembly Solution is thus equally suitable for manual, semi-automatic and fully automatic workstations. Innovations in software and hardware.

Innovations in software and hardware

On the software side, the solution based on our award-winning WorkflowLiner™ AGV allows particularly simple and code-free planning and modification of assembly and production processes on all standard programming interfaces. The master computer is controlled directly from the planning documents without the need for manual programming for changes.

In operation, the Flexible Assembly Solution is usually controlled by fully automatic course guidance. Communication of the system with the individual stations, e.g. for variant-controlled route finding, is possible wirelessly via W-LAN. In repair and test areas, the FAS can be moved by remote control or autonomously via environmental sensors.

Ergonomic and flexible

The Flexible Assembly Solution is suitable for use in assembly and production for products weighing up to 1.5 tons. The stepless, electrically driven height adjustment allows for rotational positioning with programmable holding positions. The system thus shows its ergonomic strengths particularly when handling very large and heavy components.

Particularly noteworthy is the great modularity of the Flexible Assembly Solution. It enables an individual design from a manually controlled transport system to an autonomously moving workstation. As an independent workstation, tools and parts kits can be carried along. HMIs are also integrated to display the necessary work steps at the current station.
